By the sweat of your brow...

Why is exercise so difficult?

  • You always feel like a million bucks after a good workout.
  • Food always tastes better after a healthy run.
  • You sleep better.
  • You don't waste the rest of the day with feelings of guilt.
  • The burden of knowing you need to workout is immediately lifted...

... and I'm not even listing the physical benefits to exercise! But instead of remembering that euphoric feeling...

  • You sleep in, too tired to get up and run even though it will have the opposite effect of feeling tired.
  • You go through the entire day wishing you would have just gotten your lazy butt up.
  • To enjoy a deliciously crisp and perfectly salted tortilla chip served at lunch is out of the question knowing you failed the exercise regimen.
  • You give every excuse in the book why you cannot workout... it's too hot, I don't have time, I'm tired, my hair might get messed up!

It's so ridiculous isn't it? I know all this and yet by tomorrow I will be back to the excuses and lies. I'm getting up first thing in the morning and reading this post and then getting to working out. We'll see what happens.
