Sellene, Level 80 Death Knight

Hello, my name is Alison.

I started playing World of Warcraft in 2008 because my husband begged and I wanted to spend more quality time with him. It seemed, at the time, playing WoW was the best way to achieve that!

In November 2008, WoW came out with an expansion to the game called "Wrath of the Lich King". Together, we created new characters known as the "Death Knights". My Death Knight was named Sellene.

I played Sellene till early the following year and lost interest. It wasn't till this past Christmas that my husband and I decided to play again. He even bought me a 60-day subscription for Christmas.

This past weekend I reached level 80 with my character Sellene, the creme de la creme of World of Warcraft. As my husband would say, now the game begins!

In honor of this momentous occasion, I decided to go all-out-geek on y'all and introduce you to Sellene as the lore would have her.

Hello, my name is Sellene.

I was born a High Elf. When I was a young adult, I fought in the Third War for my people and our land but like most of the High Elves, I perished.

Some years later Prince Arthas, a human corrupted by power and magic, came to the resting places of the fallen and wielded an unimaginable magic. He rose me and many others from our graves to form an undead army called the Death Knights.

I was a slave to Prince Arthas who was called the Lich King. I did not possess free will and my mind was controlled and dominated by the Lich King himself.

Years later at the Battle of Light's Hope Chapel, I was able to break free of the Lich King's control thanks to the Knights of the Ebon Blade, renegade Death Knights. I am forever indebted to the Knights of the Ebon Blade and willingly fight along side them against my former master the Lich King.

I am undead but appear as an echo of my previous self.

As embarrassing as it is to admit, I have become very sentimental to the road Sellene has traveled. I have found myself very interested in the back-story of my character. It leads me to think of all the people I know in real life and although I know no one that is undead, everyone has a story and it's what makes them who they are today. I guess because I have seen Sellene's story unfold I'm more bound to it. Kinda silly and absolutely nerdy so I thank you for letting me share.
