A Father's Love

A Father's Love, originally uploaded by A!ison.

My father's love language is definitely gift giving. When I opened my front door today I had these gifts waiting for me.

A styrofoam cooler filled with Omaha Steak meats nominated to be the first to meet the flames of our BBQ and

A Big Band Cuban-style cd. My dad said Ry Cooder is listed as one of the top ten greatest guitar players.

As if that wasn't enough, still to come is the grill for those destined Omahas. He knew we could not keep our BBQ... wouldn't fit it the POD and being that my dad is a master griller, he got us a beautiful duo gas/charcoal grill.

I'm always amazed and overwhelmed by his generosity and his ability to pick the perfect gifts. That cd is AWESOME! One song has got this long intro of just bongo drums and turned way up in my car, it's even better than Usher's "OMG". And a few weeks ago I had mentioned in passing this BBQ my husband was drooling over in the store. Never in a million years did I think we'd buy or even receive such a sophisticated grill!

Thanks Pops. I'm gonna be expecting you to come over soon to teach the boy some of your cookout secrets. I love you!

Went to Super Target today. They had FOUR endcaps filled with Fireworks. It was the most surreal thing I have ever seen. I bought two packs of sparklers because I thought I'd send a pack to my mom but apparently you can't send explosives in the mail. DUH!

It poured cats and dogs this afternoon. Lightening, thunder! I was beginning to think I was made for this weather but now not so much. I'm use to one maybe two storms a YEAR involving lightening... I think it's a regular thing here.

I have discovered and been addicted to over the past two days Instant Netflix that is streamed to my TV through the Wii. I guess you can tell I've been up to something... blogging has been brief or behind. I have missed watching TV from my living room. We have been without cable (by choice) for over a year. Any TV we watch is through Hulu but it's in front of my computer. So often I have wanted to curl up on the couch to watch The Biggest Loser but my upright computer chair has had to make due or is it do? Well now I can watch seasons one through six of The Deadliest Catch from the comfort of my couch. God help me if Hulu ever streams to the TV. I will become a bonafide couch potato.
