Greek Roadkill

Greek Roadkill, originally uploaded by A!ison.

Please allow me to introduce you to the Greek’s wife! She’s making her Crooked Tiara debut today. Yipee!

The Greek came home a little early so we took the opportunity to run some errands without the kiddos. Returned home with Thai food for the men but not before making a stop to my new favorite cupcake shop, Good Golly Miss Holly.

I tried taking a million pictures, ok… three, and none of them could quite get the cupcakes in the shot but trust me when I say, they were a sight to behold AND they tasted great! And the verdict is in, Red Velvet is the best one.

Want to know a little more about the Greek’s wife?

Well, we were born on the same day. Her parents are British with real live accents and they live here in Orlando too. She married the Greek, duh. She has two beautiful daughters, 15 months apart and I can’t decide which one is my favorite. Her house always smells good but I don’t know what the smell is… it’s like clean laundry or green grass. We are both addicted to coffee and apparently cupcakes. She is an instant friend to everyone she meets. She’s easy going and the most flexible mother of two small children I’ve ever met. I am so thankful that I have her company here in Florida. I was telling her just today that I don’t know how I could have survived this relocation without her friendship. How blessed I am!

Today we had a major rainstorm! It sounded like the roof was going to cave in and all I could see was a sheet of white. Yep, I could not see through the rain! It was crazy. The terrible part is I think that kind of rain disrupts all the wildlife here. While out on the road I saw roadkill turtle just like you’d see in a cartoon, with a tire tread going right down the middle of it. Also saw an armadillo! I really want to say armadilla ‘cause I’m in the South and that’s what a southern accent would call it. Anyway, you could see in the road how far the poor thing was dragged under the car before it was finally let loose to die on the side of the road. Saw a humungous dead raccoon too but he was dead before the rainstorm.

Hello, the Greeks wife! So happy to finally put a face to the moniker :) The cupcakes look DELISH. I have never had red velvet cake but since A!ison raves about it so much I must find a place to try it. perhaps my fave cake shop, Flour Power, will have them! XO
