Official Floridians

Official Floridians, originally uploaded by A!ison.

Well, it's official, Special K is a Floridian and has the license plate to prove it. Isn't he so cute? Oh what he does for le blog... gotta love it.

Florida DMV is no different than California DMV. It's a great place to people watch, it's overcrowded and they overcharge you 'cause they can.

This beautiful license plate that really has numbers, not green little boxes, cost us $398. It's good till May of 2011. Here in Florida your registration is due on your birthday and since Special K's car is in my name, the reg is payable in May.

And since we just paid an equivalent amount to the California DMV for my truck and will have to pay the same amount to Florida, we are gonna ride the line of the law and not get the truck registered till someone makes us. Breaking the law, breaking the law. I mean, why did I pay $400 to legally drive my truck in California for ONE MONTH? (the length of time between registration and us leaving the state) Do you think CA DMV is going to retro me a refund? And then why am I going to turn around and pay another $400 to register my truck here in Florida? It's the law you say? Law-flaw. Sorry, last time I checked, money did not grow on the tree out back. Do the math, we will have shelled out $1600 in car registration over the past five months. Ridiculous!

This lawbreaker is out!

ugg. I had the same dilemma with my license when I moved to San Diego, had just renewed my license on my birthday in Dec, and moved in Jan, and they punched a hole through my license. However it wasn't $400!
