Gingerbread Night

Gingerbread Night, originally uploaded by A!ison.

I cannot believe Christmas is here! Tonight we made gingerbread houses, me, T.$ and the Greek's wife. It was fantastic!

Before everyone came over I made a batch of this stuff that is lovingly called "crack". I also made some corn flake wreaths, yum. I threw in a frozen lasagna for dinner and got to work on the house! Soon everyone arrived and we decorated to our heart's content. When the lasagna was done I just threw it on the counter and made everyone fend for themselves. If they wanted something sweet they munched on the crack or the wreaths. It was perfect!

I love this kind of Christmas... fun little activities and lots of quality time spent with those that you love. Of course this idea is bitter sweet; I miss my family in San Diego and wish they could be here with me. In a strange way it feels like Christmas and yet it doesn't. But I am so thankful for tonight. What an excellent way to usher in Christmas.

oh I love gingerbread houses! My mom would make one every year on a glass plate and she would put a lightbulb in what looked like a giant butter crock, and place the plate on the crock, so that the house would be illuminated.
