Special K and I got up at 2:15 AM to watch the total lunar eclipse this morning. It was a cold clear night and we could unmistakably see the eclipse happen. I read that if I were an astronaut standing on the moon, I would see the sun slowly hide behind the earth. During the total eclipse earth would be dark with a reddish ring around it. How awesome would that have been to see? I also read that in the shadow, the temperature on the moon plummets to minus 280 degrees F. A drop of over 500 degrees F in only about two hours. Crazy.
