Today I was reminded of something I use to love back home. Gardening.
Since moving to Florida the weather has been less than ideal. If it's not scorching hot it's freezing. And on the days where the weather may have been perfect, I've found other things to do with my time. Gardening has not only *not* been a priority, it hasn't even blipped on my chore radar.
But today it was 75 and sunny. A perfect day really. I was just going to do some odd jobs out in the garage. Then I spotted a bundle of weeds in the grass, taller than the grass and thought, 'I should just pull those suckers now before they take over the front yard'. Before I knew it I was weeding the entire yard.
feeling the sun on my skin. When Special K and I first moved here my dad bought me a Month by Month Gardening Book and I am so thankful. California's climate, rainfall and soil could not be more opposite to Florida. What might have worked for me back home won't here but I'm ready for the challenge. I don't have a huge amount of space to experiment but I am so ready to get started! Is it Spring yet?
