An Untimely Sunburn

An Untimely Sunburn, originally uploaded by A!ison.

Summer is upon us, I can feel it, literally.

The Cicadas are humming again.
A/C units across the neighborhood are roaring back to life.
The geckos are returning, invading our sidewalk and front door.
Those beautiful clouds I fell in love with last Summer are back.
Which means the humidity is back as well.
And I got burned for the first time this year.
I have a feeling Summer in Florida is a 6 month affair. Summer and Winter are the two dominate seasons and Spring and Fall kind of just fade into them. If you close your eyes for too long, you might miss them! Well, I have a feeling that is what's happening now; Spring is about to show her pretty little face long enough to plant a few annuals and find being outdoors irresistible. And then BAM! Summer will emerge unjustly with all it's sweating in unimaginable places and atrocious electric bills.

OW! That hurts to look at it! Are you going to plant some annuals this year? Trying to figure how long you have been there???? Is it one year in April? ysm

@YSM I *am* planning to get some annuals in the ground but I need to switch out a sprinkler head first and I'm dragging my feet. I wish I could play in your garden! We have been here 8 months exactly on Monday, we moved in June.
