Day 13 of 28 Days of Doing - DIY Quote TShirt

28 Days of Doing - The Pinterest Challenge
In an attempt to DO more than PIN, I've challenged myself to 28 days of doing. I'm tackling 28 projects found on Pinterest in 28 days. You can see the entire collection of pins here.

Today's Pin: DIY Quote TShirt

The Pin's Source: A Splendid Assemblage

  • $0.99 for the fabric paint. Found an easy Zip Screens kit at Walmart.
  • $1.97 for iron-on gem stones
  • used a tank top that was in my dresser. A brand new one would have cost $3.88 from Walmart.

Hours: 2.5 hours

My Version of the Project: From the Cricut I cut out a halloween cat using the Happy Hauntings cartridge and applied it to a simple white tank I already had.

Notable Comments: I actually only followed half this project's instructions. Because I found an easy and CHEAP fabric paint kit, I did not use a bottle of paint and a dabber. The Zip Screens paint went on a little thick which worked for this particular design... the blacker the cat the better. However, if I was doing something a little more delicate, I would attempt the dabber method.

And just like the DIY Glass Etching, this project was made a whole lot easier having a Cricut. Can you make it without a Cricut? Absolutely. Does it quadruple the amount of time you spend on it? Yup!

Through this experience I have become a huge Zip Screens fan. The paint comes in all the colors of the rainbow, it's cheap as all get out and it was so easy to apply.
