Day 6 of 28 Days of Doing - Easy Candle Upcycle

28 Days of Doing - The Pinterest Challenge
In an attempt to DO more than PIN, I've challenged myself to 28 days of doing. I'm tackling 28 projects found on Pinterest in 28 days. You can see the entire collection of pins here.

Today's Pin: Easy Candle Upcycle (Easy Cinnamon Ornaments was scheduled for today but the project has a 24 hour drying time so I swapped it out for a later day)

The Pin's Source: Happy Go Lucky

The Gist of It All: How many Yankee candles have I thrown away when there was still a ton of wax to be burned but had no more wick to burn it with? A gazillion I'd say, such a waste. Thanks to this project, you can melt down that unused wax and pour it into a new candleholder with a new wick. Genius!!

Cost:
  • $3.29 for the wicks
  • had some unused candle holders lying around so I used those.

Hours: 20 minutes

Notable Comments: This was a very fast and easy project and it's resourcefulness is beyond compare. I am so disappointed that I did not discover this sooner. I could have saved a fortune in new candles! It makes me hurt to know of all the unused wax I have thrown away in the past.

As you can see I still have plenty of room for another layer!
