Day 22 of 28 Days of Doing - Bandanna Quilt

28 Days of Doing - The Pinterest Challenge
In an attempt to DO more than PIN, I've challenged myself to 28 days of doing. I'm tackling 28 projects found on Pinterest in 28 days. You can see the entire collection of pins here.

Today's Pin: Bandanna Quilt

The Pin's Source: Pumpkin Patch

  • $0.99 for each bandanna
  • $4.47 for one black flat sheet

Hours: 2 days

Notable Comments: I found bandannas of every color at Hobby Lobby for $0.99 each. I regrettably took the cheap route and shopped for the basic white bandannas at Walmart, thinking they would be much cheaper. Not only were they not cheaper, they were a different size than the Hobby Lobby ones, not to mention far less cute.

All that to say, my seam ripper was my best friend during this project. I could not get my corners to match and it was a big giant headache. So take it from me, buy all your bandannas the same brand/size.

I also regret using so much white. I think it really washed the picnic blanket out. In an attempt to bring more color to the white, my smart momma suggested using colored buttons as the ties and I think that worked out good.

I even added a belt to the back to tie up the blanket when it's rolled up.
